Sapphire is the best medium for lenses and other optical applications that require a broad spectrum of light transmission and high optical clarity. Sapphire lenses, reflectors and optics have the ability to transmit a wider range of infrared than any other standard glass optics. For UV light transmission, sapphire is the best material next to UV-grade quartz.
We grind and polish a variety of optical sapphire lenses for Lasers, Endoscopes, LEDs & many other applications. Our in-house engineering department is here to insure your requirements are fulfilled.
Sapphire dome offers better optical performance and durability over other substrate materials. It provides a very strong and durable protective environment to house other optical components, and is useful over a wide transmission band (150nm - 6000nm).
Sapphire UV and IR transmission properties in combination with ability to withstand harsh chemicals, high pressures and temperatures offer strong advantages for Fire and IR Detectors, protective windows and thermocouple protection sheaths for remote sensors and optics for harsh environments such oil well drilling, chemical processing and other industrial processes.
Sapphire Epi Polished Wafers are ultra flat, super clean, stress-free polished substrates. These are offered with precision orientations and offsets, wafer-to wafer uniformity with multiple surfaces finished. These wafers are custom designed to optimize customers’ unique specification and final application.
Synthetic sapphire is the ideal optical material for applications where a broad spectrum of light transmission and high optical clarity is required. Synthetic sapphire's colorless characteristics make it a superior optical material compared to any standard glass. Synthetic sapphire has good transmission from 180 nanometers in the UV to 5.5 microns in the IR.
We have the technology to produce synthetic sapphire prisms as small as 1mm up to 300 mm. The orientation is available as C-axis, A-plane, R-plane, random or per customer’s request.
