LBO Crystal
LBO(Lithium Triborate, LiB3O5) is an excellent nonlinear optical crystal with combination of a number of unique features:
• Wide transparency range from 160nm to 2600nm
• High optical homogeneity (δn≈10-6/cm) and being free of inclusion
• Relatively large effective SHG coefficient (about three times that of KDP)
• High damage threshold(18.9 GW/cm² for a 1.3ns laser at 1.054μm)
• Wide acceptance angle and small walk-off
• Broad Type I and Type II non-critical phase-matching (NCPM) range
LiNbO3(Lithium Niobate) is one of the most attractive materials for optoelectronics. A great variety of devices has been developed based upon this material having unique electro-optical, photoelastic, piezo-electric and non-linear properties combined with good mechanical and chemical stability and wide transparency range.
BIBO(BiB3O6) is a newly developed nonlinear Optical Crystal. It possesses large effective nonlinear coeffcient, high damage threshold and inertness with respect to moisture. Its nonlinear coefficient is 3.5-4 times higher than that of LBO,1.5-2 times higher than that of BBO. It is a promising doubling crystal to produce blue laser.
BBO(Beta Barium Borat, β-BaB2O4) is a nonlinear optical crystal with combination of a number of unique features:
• Broad phase-matching range from 409.6nm to 3500nm
• Wide transparency region from 190 nm to 3500 nm
• Large nonlinear coefficient(~ 6 times greater than that of KDP crystal)
• High damage threshold(10GW/cm² @1064nm,100ps pulse)
• High optical homogeneity with dn≈10-6/cm
• Wide temperature-bandwidth of about 55°C(Type 1 SHG 1064 nm)
BBO crystal has a number of advantages for different applications:
• Harmonics generation(SHG,THG,FHG and 5HG) of Nd:YAG and Nd:YLF lasers
• Harmonics generation(SHG,THG,FHG) of Ti:Sapphire and Alexandrite lasers
• Frequency doubling, tripling and mixing of Dye lasers
• Frequency doubling of Argon ion, Copper vapour lasers
• Optical parametric amplifiers (OPA) and optical parametric oscillators (OPO)
• Electro-optical (E/O) switching crystals for Pockels cells
KTP(Potassium Titanium Oxide Phosphate) is a nonlinear optical material, characterized by high NLO coefficient, wide transparency, wide temperature synchronism width and moderate damage threshold. The single crystal of KTP is used for effective nonlinear transformation of laser radiation. It’s most popular application is for Second Harmonic Generation (SHG). The properties of KTP make it superior as an electro-optic modulator as well as an optical waveguide device, including phase modulators, amplitude modulators and directional couplers.
KTA Crystal
KTA(Potassium Titanyle Arsenate, KTiOAsO4) is an excellent nonlinear optical crystal for Optical Parametric Oscillation (OPO) application. It has better non-linear optical and electro-optical coefficients, significantly reduced absorption in the 2.0-5.0 µm region, broad angular and temperature bandwidth, low dielectric constants. And its low ionic conductivities result in higher damage threshold compared with KTP .
